CASA of the Tennessee Heartland, a non-profit and volunteer-based agency, aims to provide a voice for abused and neglected children in the area; after judges appoint the CASA program, a volunteer matches with a child in foster care, communicating with everyone involved in the child’s case.  

 

CASA advocates for children's best interests in court until they are returned to their home or placed into a safe and permanent home, ensuring that they don’t become forgotten in the foster care system.

The Children’s Museum is a cultural center featuring innovative exhibitions, programs, and workshops appealing to all ages. The Museum offers over 20,000 objects, archival holdings, audio/video tapes, books, and magazines to educators for use. Hands-on learning opportunities at the museum emphasize science, art, and history, encouraging young people to understand their cultural heritage and environment. 

 

Other events the museum hosts include coloring competitions, spring camps, and Crafty Wednesdays. During these events, the youth are guided through a wide range of activities, learning new innovative skills ranging from painting to cooking.

The clinic builds long-term relationships with patients, offers diagnostic services on site, and helps connect patients to more healthcare resources when needed, including specialists.

Oak Ridge Schools is the school district located in Oak Ridge Tennessee. It includes the Oak Ridge High School for grades 9-12th. Robertsville and Jefferson Middle School for grades 5-8th. Linden, Willow Brook, Glenwood, and Woodland elementary schools for grades Kindergarten-4th. 

The Oak Ridge school system has a unique grade system because of their elementary to middle school grades. Normally like most of the US 5th grade is done in elementary school but in Oak Ridge 5th grade is on the middle school level.

The Oak Ridge school district offers great education to all children of Oak ridge K-12 geared toward all types of learning but with a notable STEM programs.

The goal of TORCH is to help the homeless find housing as quickly as possible. Their Housing First approach prioritizes the need for housing as a foundation to improve life quality, without any prerequisites such as requiring participation in service or addressing behavioral health problems.  

TORCH case managers assist with giving housing referrals, filling out applications, covering fees, and facilitating a quicker move into housing. TORCH offers face-to-face meetings providing information about services in the area and housing resources.
